Suez Canal Authority

The Suez Canal Authority (SCA) is an Egyptian state-owned public authority with an independent legal status, established on July 26, 1956, to manage, operate, and maintain the Suez Canal following its nationalization. Headquartered in Ismailia, the SCA is solely responsible for issuing regulations related to navigation in the canal and ensuring the safe transit of vessels. Its duties include all operational, maintenance, and development aspects of the waterway, providing pilotage, towing, and mooring services. The authority continuously undertakes projects to enhance the canal's capacity to accommodate the growth in global trade.
